- "WHO IS KYM?"
- Kymla, founder and director, is a wife and mother of 8 kids. She adopted a sibling group of 4 and 2 special needs girls. Kymla was nominated for an National Award," Stand For A Better World" Award! She was one of ten finalists. She has been featured and honored on several local tv stations; ch. 8, 11, 58, radio: Tom Joyner morning show (shout out), KRLD, and newspapers; Dallas Weekly, Dallas Morning News, The Dallas Examiner, and Thelma Wells Women's Ministries. She is in the National Register's Who's Who (twice), and the Gov. of Texas in 1996 (George Bush) honored her for adopting 6 children,(a sibling group of 4 and 2 special needs kids)as a single parent and also for her work in the community. Kymla was adopted herself at the age of 2 months. With the help of great people like yourself, Kymla can make an even greater impact on the lives of hurting kids!
- Kym was adopted at the age of 2 months old and has always wanted to adopt children and help others! In 1989 she had a terrible car accident from helping a disabled man get off the road so he wouldn't get hurt, but Kym sustained 2 broken legs, pelvis and jaw and was pronounced dead. The man she stopped to help never got hurt! Kym totally recovered and learned to walk all over again! After that she started a daycare in 1992 for special needs children and then a foster home in 1993. She has fostered 19 special children and adopted 6! She has truly overcome incredible odds and helps hurting kids because she knows that with help and a lot of love, they can truly overcome too!
- You can make a difference in the life of a kid.
- Kymla has a B.A. in Social Sciences and is soon to finish writing a book about how she has overcome many obstacles and wants to help others to overcome too!
