Kym's Kids began in 1994 to help abused, neglected, and low-to-moderate income kids and families. We offer year-round mentoring, tutoring, a food pantry, low-income housing support, cultural field trips, books, school supplies, uniforms, clothing, furniture, and vehicle donations.
We pick up donations and welcome gently used items, perishables, and non-perishable food. Every dollar and every hour comes from volunteers — we receive no state or federal funding.

Free Summer Camp
A safe, joyful summer of learning, field trips, and adventure — completely free for families.
Food Pantry
Fresh and non-perishable food, Thanksgiving baskets, and Christmas meals for families in need.
Household Support
Clothing, furniture, low-income housing help, vehicle donations, and eviction/utility assistance.
Free Swim Lessons
Life-saving swim instruction offered at no cost to the kids in our community.
Free Piano Lessons
Music education that opens doors and builds confidence — free of charge.
A life of service, born from love.
Born and raised in Prairie View, Texas, Kym was adopted as an infant and raised by a school teacher and a chemistry professor. She holds a B.A. in Social Sciences and a certification in Early Childhood Education, and has served as a licensed insurance agent, notary, income tax preparer, and ordained minister for over 30 years.
After opening a daycare in her home and fostering more than 25 children, Kym adopted 6 — four of them a sibling group. She's a mother of 8. In 1998, she stopped on the highway to help a disabled stranger and was struck by a Winnebago, breaking both legs, a hip, and her jaw. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Today she is fully recovered.

Kymla was a top-ten finalist for the National "Stand For A Better World" Award. She's been featured on Channels 8, 11, 58, and 49, the Tom Joyner Morning Show, KRLD, the Dallas Weekly, Dallas Morning News, and Dallas Examiner.
She was honored by Governor George Bush in 1996 for adopting six children as a single parent, received the Joyce M. Jones award in 2018, and was recognized by Comerica Bank in "South Dallas Spotlight" in 2021. In 2021–22, Kym's Kids received $22,000 to help hurting kids and families.
